Tamara Kurkiewicz (b. 1996, Poland) is a Stuttgart-based percussionist and performer with a strong focus on contemporary and experimental music. In her projects, she often integrates performative and conceptual elements, developing concert formats that place selected works in dialogue with broader social and cultural themes.

She has collaborated with numerous composers, among them Helmut Lachenmann, Isabel Mundry, Agata Zubel, Brigitta Muntendorf, Robin Hoffmann, and Óscar Escudero, as well as with ensembles such as Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna contemporary ensemble, shIft ensemble, and Trio Abstrakt. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has appeared at festivals including Warsaw Autumn, Klangspuren Schwaz, ECLAT, Wiener Festwochen, and KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen. In 2024 and 2025, she was a member of the Festivalcampus Ensemble of Heidelberger Frühling, where she co-created projects as part of the festival’s LAB format and re:start concert series.

Tamara is a prizewinner of several competitions, including the Polish Competition of 20th and 21st Century Music for Young Performers (Radziejowice), the International Percussion Competition (Fermo), and the Polish Percussion Competition (Poznań). In 2024, she received a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg.

She graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under the guidance of Miłosz Pękala and Henryk Mikołajczyk. In 2023, she completed her MA in Neue Musik with distinction at HMDK Stuttgart, where she studied with Marta Klimasara and Klaus Dreher and is currently pursuing her Konzertexamen, while also teaching at the Studio Neue Musik.
